Je Eauma. Later meer :)

Deze zien jullie vast niet van me aankomen. Mooie track. Mooie opbouw. Lots of synths en andere trucendozen. Enjoy! Oh, en David Gilmour doet ook mee geloof ik.

Extreme - Get The Funk Out

“Peacemaker Die” kwam vorig jaar langs tijdens Antikal’s Warsongs-thema.

Level42 - It’s Over

JannemanDoor: Janneman | 74 Posts

General music junkie. Started playing the guitar when I was 13. Tried a little bass and keyboard in between, but nowadays I spend most of my time behind the drums. I love everything between classical and heavy metal, as long as it surprises me.

Mooi liedje. Geen bijzondere muzikale prestatie, maar prettig om naar te luisteren.

Fuck it, dat zijn tevens de laatste engelse woorden die ik hier gebruik ;)
Kijk maar of je het leuk vindt of niet, apart is het zeker.

Queen cover by Pink: Bohemian Rapsody

In my quest for perfect cover bands, I did not end up with some vague Polish band tonight, but Pink! Her version of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody is truly sublime. Not so much as in covering Freddy’s vocals in this song, because that part is -let’s be honoust- really not that complicated if you listen carefully, but the performance of the band and backings. Simply brilliant. Freddy would approve!

Nine Inch Nails - Me I’m Not / Meet Your Master (remix)

AntikalDoor: Antikal | 66 Posts

Je Eauma. Later meer :)

Trent Reznor is a genius. Simple as that. His versatility and ability to move from Rock to Industrial to very VERY clever pop-writing has made Nine Inch Nails, or NIN, a force to be reckoned with for over 2 decades now. Admittedly there’s some lesser material released (I’m not particularly fond of the albums “With Teeth” or “The Slip” but a few years back the release of “Year Zero” (and the subsequent remix album “Y34RZ3R0R3M1X” (trust me: the remix album is a more than worty addition to the original album) totally reinstated my belief in this man, his music *and* his vision on releasing, creating and managing music. I give you “Me I’m Not” off Year Zero and the remix version of “Meet Your Master” off “Y34RZ3R0R3M1X”. The latter is a remix by The Faint.

Play it loud though. This stuff deserves to blast out of your speakers.

How could I forget about Blondie?
My father had a huge crush on here, so in a strange way you could say I grew up with Blondie.

I picked this song because of the mad drums, but it’s really worth checking out a few more live recordings of them.

Barend Courbois

I had the honour to work with Barend Courbois (one of Holland’s most gifted bass players) back in 1998. The reason for this little get-together was a tribute album we were doing to honour my late uncle Willy, who passed away in ’97, at the age of 36. For some reason the ‘album’ was never finished. Why? Beats me! That’s what I’m trying to find out. I hope one of the musicians stil has the master tape.

[Update: heads up underneath!]

For now: see Barend Courbois in action:

And showing off some more :)

One of Willy’s favourites: Feelin’ by Van Halen

Edit: this morning I called my uncle, who whas involved with the project as well. He told me a guy named Bob has the master tape and he will ask him to make me a copy. It seems that a video tape of those sessions were made as well. I can’t wait to see them!

Unfortunately the call to my uncle brought me some bad news too: Jan Somers (guitarist of the band Vengeance, who was also a contributor to the album) died of a heart attack last january, at the age of 46. How tragic…
